Verify a certification

Find the official route for the issuer. Compare the credential name, holder, issue date, expiry and revocation status with the submitted claim.

Credly and Microsoft Learn support automatic import. Other methods open the provider's verification service or guidance. Never use a course-completion certificate as proof of a different professional certification.

Ask the holder to share their public provider-issued Credly badge. Import the public badge URL and check the exact credential, holder and expiry. A directory template describes an award and does not prove ownership; a manual entry alone remains unverified.

If your award has a public Credly badge, you can import its URL. CertSprout automatically checks supported Credly and Microsoft Learn records. Provider-site lookups and manually attached links do not automatically mark a credential verified. A public record confirms the award; it does not prove the signed-in user owns it.
